Welcome to The Research House, Wimbledon, home to the All
England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club who organise the world famous
tennis tournament held in the last week of June and first
week of July. The village is recognized as one of the most
attractive London villages with beautiful common land, boutiques
and village architecture.
The following is a listing for restaurants, things to do and
shopping in and around Wimbledon. It is not by any means
all-inclusive. If you are looking for something that you do not see
here or a little further afield, please feel free to call us and we
will help you.

Offers a mélange of unusual foods from different cultures, creating
new combinations with often startling, sometimes brilliant,
results: Soy-braised duck leg with spiced apple & black bean
ragout, bok choy & tamarind jus appears alongside tuna
carpaccio with crunchy vegetables & yuzu dressing. The results
remain good. A comfortable, if noisy, place to spend the evening,
while the set lunch is exceptional value.

The light & airy room with its pop-art paintings is a very
pleasant place to sit, the pretty enclosed garden even nicer.
There’s nothing too daring or demanding on the menu, but what they
offer is done to a high standard: brilliant crispy pizzas, simple
fish dishes & grilled meats. Service is charming &
thoughtful. Prices are above average, but so is the experience.

Italian dishes in a stylish minimalist environment. They also offer
a good selection of beers. The restaurant has a friendly
service and lively atmosphere in this good all-rounder modern

Lydon’s is one of the chicest restaurants in the delightful area of
Wimbledon village. The diverse menu is certain to have plenty to
tempt every appetite with the waiter wheeling over a trolley to
display the specialties of the day. The real focus of the menu is
fish with everything from lobster and crab through to tuna and
swordfish. However, there are also many non-fish options such as
spicy marinated baby chicken, liver with bacon or a steak. The wine
list is mainly Italian.

If you are looking for a vibrant, no-nonsense gastro pub, then this
one comes highly recommended. The menu isn't extensive but the food
that they do serve is good if you don't mind noise.

range of light meals and drinks within a French atmosphere. There
is a large choice of dishes as well as hot and cold drinks which

The first and biggest of the pizza chains, Pizza Express is an old
favorite for many. It struggled in the face of newer opposition in
the 1990s, but has come back with a vengeance in the past couple of
years, thanks to a revamped menu and a brighter, more modern design

can't be bettered. The décor is a traditional and smart, the

This no-frills eating formula has been often repeated, but seldom
bettered. Long communal refectory tables and shared benches may not
be everyone’s cup of green tea, but for those looking for quick,
cheap, wholesome oriental food, Wagamama is the place to come. The
menu is simply divided into various noodle and rice dishes: Service
is brisk and efficient.

Arguably one of the more genuine of London’s Thai restaurants. The

View the hallowed turf of the world famous Centre Court and admire
the original Championship trophies at this unique sporting museum.
Other highlights include the opportunity to see inside a
racket-maker's workshop as well as an invite to a Victorian tennis
garden party.
Guided tours of the grounds are available for pre-booked groups of
15 or more people. Even take a look at behind-the-scenes highlights
including access into Centre Court and the BBC studio.

maps, books, photographs, archaeology, ephemera, natural history,
artifacts and manuscripts, all relating to Wimbledon history, from
prehistoric times to the present day.
Wimbledon Windmill Museum

This museum is housed in a windmill built in 1817. It depicts the
history of windmills and windmilling, using pictures, models, tools
and machinery of the trade, with hands-on milling for children. The
windmill is in the centre of Wimbledon Common comprising 1,100
acres of heath and woodland.
