San Francisco Things to do

Schlesinger San Francisco is located on California and front streets in the Financial District of San Francisco. Dubbed the city by the bay, and known as the restaurant capital of the world San Francisco is home to world renowned theaters, parks, museums, and of course restaurants.


Attractions


The Ferry Building

At the foot of Market Street, is the Ferry Building, a vibrant public space housing a food hall, restaurants and a farmers market. The Ferry Building is also the terminal for ferries to Marin County, Vallejo, Oakland and Alameda.

The Embarcadero

Literally 'where one embarks'. And, oh, “the places you’ll go!” Piers 7 and 14 offer splendid vistas of the skyscrapers of the Financial District and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. Across the bay is Treasure Island, a man-made island that was the site of the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition.
Jackson Square: one of 11 historic districts has many buildings dating from the mid-1800s. Some of the buildings in Jackson Square are supported by old ships masts!

Pier 39

There is something for everyone at Pier 39, one of San Francisco's premier bay attractions: a festival marketplace with more than 110 stores, bay-view restaurants and a variety of fun-filled attractions.

Alcatraz

Board a Red & White fleet Bay tour and go under the golden gate bridge then circle  around Alcatraz before returning to Pier 39.  You can also schedule a time to land on Alcatraz and take a walking tour.

Coit Tower

At the top of Telegraph Hill is blessed with marvelous views. Thirty local artists painted murals on its ground floor walls in 1933. This hill is also home to a flock of wild parrots and is laced with stairways off Filbert and Greenwich streets as well as lush gardens.

Lombard Street

America's crookedest street. The steep, hilly street was created with sharp curves to switchback down the one-way hill past beautiful Victorian mansions. The street is paved with bricks and is an amazing site to see.

The Embarcadero Shopping Center

Located one block away with 4 blocks of Shopping including the Gap, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, and Nine West.

Ghirardelli Square

With shops, wineries and award-winning restaurants enjoy spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz, landscaped gardens, one-of-a-kind shopping and, of course our famous Ghirardelli Chocolate
